Canadian Coast Guard Electrical Officer Jobs 2024

CCG has come out with a new notification to recruit for the post of Electrical Officer- Marine for Newfoundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia locations. Persons residing in Canada, Canadian citizens and permanent residents abroad can apply for it. Preference will be given to veterans first and then to the Canadian citizens.

Canadian Coast Guard Electrical Officer Jobs Details:

1. You need to plan and execute the repair of the electrical components of the electrical plant, auxiliary machinery, hotel equipment and systems.
2. You need to monitor the propulsion of electrical controls.
3. You need to assist in the creation, modification of electrical/electronic equipment.
4. You need to participate in the inspection work.
5. You need to participate in fire fighting, and various other drills as well as operations.
6. You need to provide technical advice and assist the Chief Engineer in various matters.
7. You need to compile and recommend electronic specifications, vessel’s additions and various other contract work.
8. You need to make important recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
9. You need to provide support so that CCG meets its requirements.

 Educational requirement:

You should possess a valid electrical engineering technology certificate.

Experience required:

1. You should have experience as an Electrical Officer trainee.
2. You should have an experience of around 6 months.

Skills required:

1. Competency
2. Dependability
3. Team working ability

Language requirement:

English essential

Organizational requirement:

You should be a member in atleast one of the designated Employment Equity Groups.

Conditions of employment:

1. You should have a valid Health Canada Medical.
2. You need to maintain a valid Competency Certificate.
3. You need to go sea even during adverse weather conditions.
4. You need to wear and maintain a uniform as well as personal protective equipment.
5. You should be willing to work overtime.
6. You should be willing to be deployed anywhere in the Atlantic Region.
7. You need to comply with the Canadian Coast Guard Safety Standards.
8. You need to adhere to the Canadian Coast Guard Respiratory Protection Program.
9. You should possess a Valid Canadian Passport.
10. You must be willing to travel by air, land as well as sea.
